The 7600gt actually performs quite a bit better, and has HDR support.

7600GT has 4 more pixel pipelines and a much higher core clock. Core and pipelines are much more important then memory.

The 6800xt supports HDR as well. But get the 7600 gt instead of the 6800.

in fact nvidia used the 6800XT to use up broken cores and to replace the 6600GT as they stopped making it.

My 7600GS out performed the 6800XT i owned. long story...

6800GT died, replaced with 6800XT (naff and run to hot) sent back and refund. purchase 7600GS, runs great!

Agreed with everyone. But it depends upon u that what type of games u play.Like i like racing games,so my preference would be a card with higher bandwidth. There is no difference between the bandwidth of these two.6800 XT should have higher bandwidth but it has same as of 7600 GT.
Anyways 7600 GT is a better performer!!!

:D The fastest 6800 cards released were the GT & Ultra and the 7600GT often beat them despite having much lower memory bandwidth. No question, 7600GT.

Memory bandwidth can't make up for a slower core. Racing games are just like any other - the fastest overall card will, probably, be the best performer.
