i am looking to control a 9v brush less dc motor (the Lego mindstorms kind) using pwm signals to control speed generated by a basic stamp micro controller can anyone recommend a schematic. thanks

I've never dealt with brushless motors before but after some searching, this might be of some help to you.

Ok never mind the brush less part, lets just say that i want to control two 9vdc motors using pwm signals to control the speed generated by a BASIC stamp micro controller, i am wondering if anyone has done this so that i can avoid buying an actual chip that controls this stuff for sozbots

    Lego doesn't have brushless motors.

    They are brushed.

FYI, Brushless motors are far more complex to drive than normal brushed motors.

PC fan motors are brushless; they're easy enough to PWM control. ;)

Thats missing a crucial fact though, Wolfe is right. Its just that PC fan motors have built in controllers, which are able to withstand PWM.

ok nvm the whole brushless thing, lets just say i wanted to control a 9v motor and drop the speed using a lm317t voltage regulator i could have multiple lm317's set for diff voltages and thus diff speeds but is there a way to adjust one or resistance using a pwm signal generated by a basic stamp micro controller
