AMD Barton green?

    nothing to do with that. Its just different facilities use different materials to make the PCBs of the cpu

    my 2800+ barton is yellowwww, looks really kewl, cept its covered with a heatsink, shame :sigh:

    All the CPU's of mine I mentioned are BARTON cores, all are GREEEEEEEEEN.

    colour doesn't matter, I've got 2 brown bartons and 2 green bartons at the moment.

    Same here, Ive had both Green and Brown Bartons.
    Just denotes the country where they were made.

    So which is the best then? green or brown? i mean they both use a different material, which would keep the core cooler, do u think it would matter?

    Doh, missed this thread:

    It is only a difference in what company made the package.
    There are two companies that make packages for these CPU's.

    There is not electrical difference between the two, but of course green is better looking. (Imho)

    btw, they are not made in malaysia as such, the cores are made in dresden/austin etc then the completed wafers are shipped to malaysia where they are diced/tested/mounted/packaged.

    mcmad is correct.

    The malaysia sticker is only a US customs thing.
