Is the Fly & Firkin still there? It was just over the road from the union. I finished my years there just after they'd finished building the new library - only went in it once.

Psychology isn't that hard to pick up I managed it lol.
Didn't realise this many people went to tees/ lived near middlesbrough or in it on here. Madness. I hope I can recruit you all when I start doing research then as I plan to continue on to my masters/ possibly Phd.

I studied Psychology at University for a year and I have to say it wasn't anywhere near as difficult (or interesting, frankly) as I hoped it would be. There was far too much of a focus on maths for my tastes too.

Then again, I only took it because that's what all the ladies were studying - and on that basis it was a decent course.

lol good reason for taking it. My first year was full of maths, but once I got into second year ( and could choose my option choices it got more interesting. Personally the way the brain works and why people do things the ways they do/ react the way they do is fascinating and always has been. I like anaylising people and seem to be reasonably gifted at judging peoples moods/ thoughts from body language etc reasonably well. I always know when something isnt been said, so on so forth. Its just something thats always been an interest

I'm rather like that too but I've always found psychology rather tedious when compared to the pure (proper :p) sciences.

Nope, I'll be miles away hopefully. If I am in boro I'll be doing a PHD

If it's the building next to the old church looking one, then it's now the Star (prev The Star and Garter), I'll check with some mates, but it's either that or the Southfield. Never heard the F&F.

I'd imagine it's the star cos that is directly opposite the union, the southfield is further down.

New southfield is much nicer, bud on tap :)

Just a shame that like EVERY other pub they never have enough pool cues even though they had enough a month ago.
