I am thinking about using a Bulgin Vandal Switch on my case. The theme I am going for is a Radioactive theme.

Here are 2 pics. I am trying to decide among these to use:

Here is a description of my case mod I am working on.

As I mentioned, this is going to be a Radioactive theme.

On the side panel, I am going to have the Radioactive symbol cut out, with an 80 mm fan in the middle and a clear window behind it.
For the front, I am having my cd-burner and dvd-rom at the top, and in the third and fouth bays, I am placing a plastic container that will have uranium uv-reactive marbles in it. I will dress up this canister with the proper symbols and everything.
I will be having EL wire go from the canister and "connect" to the 2 ROM drives above, makling it seem to power them.
On the bottom right, I bought a plasma globe to go there, to give it a "nuclear" feel with it. Then I was going to add one of those switches shown above to the top of that globe.
On the other panel, I am placing this sticker on there, in the appropriate colors:

I am then cutting 80mm blowholes on the top. These will be covered with frozenCPU's Radioactive Grill and also one for the exhaust fan in the back
Inside, I want to cover all the metal with a flexable diamond-plate metal piece. I will have UV lights inside to illuminate everything, and one 4" light above the marbles.
Everything will have sleeves on it. I will use UV yellow reactive sleeving on the power supply, and UV green round cables.
The case will be painted a hunter green, and have yellow lettering all over.

I hope this sounds "worthy" of a good case mod. Please let me know your comments or sufggestions.

I will try and add drawings of this later so everyone can see what I am trying to describe

  2. Sounds cool. Personally I would go with the bottom button. I think it just looks better.

hmm, I like the top one more just because I think it would fit the theme of a radioactive case more then the top one. but its just my opinion.

The top one fits your mod more i think.
I also think the bottom looks so much better, but not for what you want!

Thank you everyone. So you know where to get those switches, you can go to http://wwww.performance-pcs.com and they have red, green, and blue.

I think I am going to go with the top button. I appreciate all of your comments, and I will keep a "digital log" of everything I am going to do. :D

    WOW! That pwns!

But would having the huge Radioactive symbol on the side panel, and then a switch with the same symbol be too much?

Well if you made them you could always just make a smaller one, but if you bought the switch....I'm not to sure. You could always buy both and make one power and other reset switch? or you don't even need to have a reset switch.

I like the plain green light…maybe blinking. It has a menacing warning look to it.

As far as I know vandal switches are momentary. Don't forget that or you will look like an idiot having to hold down the button to keep the plasma globe on.
btw, I like the radioactive marbles powering the drives idea.

Thank you whiteagle for the compliment.

Yeah, I am stuck on the reset switch. But if I don't have one, I would have to hold down the power button for 4 seconds each time I need to restart, which in turn sucks.

As for the plasma globe, it has its own power switch as well... which is another thing I need to work on. It is a switch.

    Hmmmm...

go for the top one, it looks like more what you would find in the military (which would have the radiation)
