Okay, I've FINALLY got my HTC HD2 back from the insurance company.

Sadly they won't replace the phone. And I've contacted HTC, and I doubt they will either, seeing as the water indicator stickers say there's been water ingress (or something like that (which is stupid, as they can be set off by just perspiration apparently). This is one of the reason highlighted by the insurance company as to why they've not replaced it.

Anyway, I've decided to say sod it, and I'm going to fix it myself. But what will I need? Just the glass screen? Or just digitizer? Or maybe the LCD?

I've got a short video of the state of the phone and what appears on it. The touch facility works perfectly, without issues. But you can see some sort of streaking along the screen, as well as some random circular thing when I skip to the music section etc.

So what's your take BT? What will I need?

1000 apologies for the shite video.

Looks like the LCD itself is fine. You clearly need to replace the glass (as that's the cracked bit) and I assume the digitiser is part of that, so have a look on ebay for HD2 digitisers!

    Good luck! :dremel:

Cheers, so would this be suitable? Really can't tell, it looks like it includes the screen :/

Looks like it, yeah. If I were doing it, I'd try to find one that has user reviews and then you can see if it worked for other people?

With these sorts of things I'd be tempted to go to a specialist, depends on how cheaply you can get it done.

Went to htcphonerepairs.co.uk. Would rather them do it than me, and **** it up.

phone repairs are easy, just get the required parts off ebay - in your case it is the glass, digitizer seems fine, but installing a glass + digitizer kit might be easier.

Any 16 year old with some experience of legos can fix phones :) Thats how i supplemented my allowance when I was in school

British is not my first language :) I wouldn't have made the plural of lego in my mother tongue, but have seen too many 'legos' on the web to avoid that curse ;)
