I failed my second on Friday. Not worth making a new thread . I'll do that when I pass . It's luck most of the time I recon. I've passed mock tests and both my fails where all on different things. Well ok it was probably my stupidity that I speeded on the first go.
hehhe weeeeeee *ahem sorry Only 3 minors too.... Commiserations to anyone who hasn't passed, not meaning to rub it in I had over 40 hours of lessons (zehr Expensive!!) so I was damn glad I passed first time! I think there is a certain element of luck, such as getting chances at roundabouts, and the like, but also skills is definately involved. I was quite pleased with the way I handled it though, drove as well as I do with my driving instructor
yea welldone buddy After 2morrow i would have had 10hours worth of lessons, dont know when im gonna be taking my theory/pratical test, but fingers crossed i pass them 1st time cos i dont have the money to waste!
WTG, I passed mine over 4 years ago now, 1st time, with 2 minors, both on my emergency stop... once for not breaking quick enough, got my foot stuck under the pedal with being quite tall... second for skidding on my emergency stop, 'cos I hit it like a ton of bricks when I did get my foot out!
Well played I have my theory on the 27th, practical will be somewhat later since I have exams I had a lesson today, was my best lesson so far since he tok me out on a dual carriageway and some nice winding country roads. I wasn't too bad, there was one dodgy moment (not my fault)when some nutter on a motorbike decided at some traffic lights (by a crossroads on a dual carriageway), that it was a sensible option to filter forwarding between the left and right hand lanes. I was in the left hand lane, going straight ahead, some dude ina Range Rover in the right hand lane, mr nutter in the middle. Anyways, lights go green, I start to go, then this bike just swerves in front of me as I started moving, to turn left across the front of my car . I swear the guy must have a deathwish, I had to break momentarily to miss him . Not a smart thing to do really I thought, cut up a learner driver who is concentrating on going forward rather than watching for some moron on a bike between lanes....
I passed first time, now you've passed mate you can start to learn to drive now. Also may be worth doing that is called pass plus, 6 additional lessons with an instructor, no test that when you complete it gived you upto 35% off your car insurance. Saved me a huge £200 on insurance for my little Golf, I'm paying £620 for the year, it would have been £585 but as I'm paying direct debit the premium has gone up to £620 for admin charges!!! Anyway I won't rock you from that high your on at the moment, congrats mate
Check with the insurers, some of them don't take any notice of pass plus also some will put up or reject you if you do advanced motoring! In other words, I've had more lessons I can rag it a more!!!
Bit daft that if you ask me, but then that's insurance companies for you, robbing little bleaders!! They've already taken their pound of flesh from the month, they aint sticking to the direct debit dates outlined thats for sure.
Well done mate dont get too cocky now Ive been driving for around 2 years now. The novelty has worn off now i find it a chore.
You driving tests seem like they suck compared to ours. Ours requires being 16 and skills that rival starting a lawn mower. Probably why there are so many crappy drivers here
Good shout - your life is abut to change forever I passed first time - but it was so long ago we had no written test or paralell parking to deal with back then. Those were the days...
i get my learners permit this october...cant wait! but that year will be soooo long.....must drive sooner!
