What about higher resolutions and AA turned ON ?

There is no difference between 30 fps and 1000 fps for the human eye, so 50 fps won't change anything as far as gaming smoohness is concerned.

Looks like they have done a bit of work to get it to run better, but that card is easily capable of achieving playable framerates.

They should have done it for cards that arent so great to show whether the 1.2 patch vs 1.0 would make the jump from unplayable to playable.

This also just reinforces the general lazyness of PC game makers, that instead of shipping a finished product they have to release several patches to get full stability and speed. This is now also true of console games the amount of updates for games when you first run them on the 360 is shocking really, I cant speak for the PS3 as I havnt used it, but I would assume the same.

    Actually you are wrong.

Frame rates above 120Hz are not discernable by the human eye, anything under 120Hz and the human eye can see a difference but it varies from person to person as to how much they notice it and how much eye strain it will cause at the lower frame rates like 60Hz or less.

A lot of people cannot stand 60Hz or less, I am one of them, I cannot stand anything less than 75Hz or I get eye strain and fatigue and I notice the flicker, I am running my monitor (Viewsonic G810) at 1024 x 768 @ 85Hz, I could run it up to 1280 x 1024 @ 75Hz but text becomes too small.

I can notice screen flicker at anything less than 70hz in my peripheral vision. And when it comes to games, for me, there is a huge difference between 30fps and 60fps.

While it does seem that developers are more lazy than they used to be (I think the first game I had to patch was Max Payne), it is a royal pain the ass to test on the limitless combinations of hardware and software on pcs. However, when it comes to patches on consoles, that's just inexcusable.
