I just mounted a lcd to the wall for the sole intent of displaying information like the time, the radar, my ip, a rss feed, etc. Unfortunatly I am at a loss of where to go for a suitable software solution. I have already tried ubuntu with screenlets and desklets but both have some problems.

    You guys have any ideas?

Why not just hook up a second screen to your main PC? And then make a Hamachi config for it.

    Radar? What radar?

My main Pc already has 2 screens on it.

When I say Radar I mean a weather Radar. I am looking for something that will present a variety of information on the lcd.

How about this, do you know of any weather widgets that display the radar as well? I radar is really the big thing Im looking for.

Well you could buy a cheap PCI graphics card or another PCI-E graphics card if you have a spare slot, for additional connections. Certainly cheaper than building a whole extra PC.

I already had a extra computer. It currently resides in a closet and is accessed via vnc from my desktop. Im looking for a OS or program that would be able to display information like stock prices, emails, calenders, RSS feeds, the time.

If any of you know what you call such a device please tell me.

Humm, makes me think of Vista's and 7's Sidebar and Gadgets... But they aren't really as advanced as you'd need.

How big is the screen? Are we talking gadgets in the Vista sense of the word, or are you after something a bit more full screen?

Its a 15 inch screen, and I would prefer something full screen. However a screen full of gadgets would be acceptable as I would not be using it as a regular pc.

This is currently how it resides.

Im currently using screenlets but it lacks any good weather forecast and radar applications
