I have a Dell P1911 monitor connected to my test PC but it has no speakers. I'm tempted to buy a dell sound bar (probably an AX510) because it would be a neat and tidy way to add speakers or would I be better off buying a cheapo set of speakers. I know I'm not going to get awesome sound quality but how good are these sound bars.
FWIW I have heard nothing but good things about them. They are good for youtube vids etc and a lot better than built in speakers. So, for under £15 I don't think you can go wrong unless you have incredible unrealistic expectations ( i.e. pumping music out, loud).
I'd say they are on par with most modern laptop speakers, so aren't loud and have no bass response, but for the price and convenience are great.
Can't fault mine. Suprising volume, and more importantly clarity at volume. No bass of course as mentioned above but for basic use they're excellent.
I have one on my 24" secondary monitor and think it was a great buy. Bought mine from this guy who has an excellent name here on the forums. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Dell-AX51...?pt=UK_Computing_Speakers&hash=item2ec4995b52 Well worth the few quid.
Thanks. Ended up buying direct from NRG as it was £2 cheaper down to the fact that they don't have ebay fees to contend with. Arrived next day as described and it's just what I needed for my test system, neat and tidy and doesn't take up any desk space. Sound is pretty much as expected, lacks base but all I need it for is basic sound anyway, maybe watching the odd you tube video, generally sounds good. Excellent buy all round.
