Which is the best antivirus software availible in the market nowdays, price is not the factor here. ??? I find Norton good, but it had recently started developing some problems.
I've always found a program called AVG to be a great program, from here. You can buy several different versions, but the free one is quite adequate for all my needs - it usually finds virii before norton does on systems thanks to the free updates every day or whatever...
Dont' know how good is avg but i'm impressed by NOD32. It is very very fast, customizable, doesn't sucks many resources and has daily or even twice a day updates.
A question. Has the free version of AVG an option to exclude file and folders from the on-access scanning ?
http://housecall.trendmicro.com . free. free. did i mention, free? updated daily. all you need is a web browser.
Just browsed to Virus Bulletin for AVG and found this . 3 passes 19 fails seems one of the worst performance ever
i'm on norton 2004, but AVG is good and bonus as its free the trend stuff is meant to be the industry standard
price is not the factor here. he sais so bye avg and norton because price doesnt matter you better buy some enterprise anti-virus like McAfee Active Virus Defense Sophos Anti-Virus Symantec AntiVirus Enterprise Edition 8.0 Trend Micro Enterprise Protection Strategy those are far the best
yea i am using AVG right now. ive been having problems with norton 03 and 04. if you have a copy of 02 use that. i got more disks of that then i do AOL. lol it comes as a bonus with every router and mobo i buy.
Im having problems with both Norton 2004 Professional Edition and my previus Norton 2004 Pro. I was not having this problem when i was using my previous Windows XP which had no service pack. But since the day i have formatted my pc and installed Service Pack1. When ever i try to run LiveUpdate or Open Norton Antivirus's main Window it closed after a few seconds. I keep update with the help of the automated Liveupdate. Anybody has any clue why i am having this problem ?
a friend of mine had the same problem. try ctrl+alt+del and open the task manager. click the tab for processes. end all of them that are not necessary (i'm sorry, but I'm not sure which ones are necessary, although someone else lurking in here should know) and then try running the anti-virus. apparently some viruses run processes in the background that prevent you from running anti-viruses. sneaky little buggers, aren't they? anyways, I hope this helps!
