    sorry this won't help, but...

wierd thing happens for my dad - he clicks on a link in Outlook (or even Eudora) and get both an IE and a FF window!

Also, msnger always opens weblinks in IE, no matter what settings are used - damn MS!

To fix the IE/FF problem, you gotta fix the HTTP reference in the registry. The installation program doesn't seem to bother changing the DDE setting.

    1. Open My Computer.
    2. Click Tools, Folder Options.
    3. Click on File Types.
    4. Scroll down to (NONE) URL:HyperText Transfer Protocol.
    5. Click on Advanced.
    6. Select Open.
    7. Click Edit.
    8. Make sure the settings are the same as in the image below.

And to stop FF opening new windows, try downloading Tabbrowser Extensions, and set it to "Use only one browser window always"

Glad to be of service :D

If only PCs came installed with Firefox instead of IE, would make my life happier. I hate using IE for anything but Windows Update and Office Update.

Just purchased & configured a new pc for my mum... I set FF as the default browser, so I'm doing my bit to convert the masses.

However, we are all suffering from websites that are designed poorly or for IE specifically. So IE still comes in useful...

Hopefully, improvements in FF and others will mean that they become preferred to IE - given that IE isnt going to change until Longhorn, and only Early-adopters will get it before the end of 2006.

    Cheers

And this is where the extension IEView comes in handy :)

Sometimes I have to flick into IE because 1) AdBlock has blocked half the images on a website because of one of the regex rules 2) the page is designed so badly it only works in IE.

The sooner people embrace CSS and XHTML the better.

IEView is the add-on that removes the last annoying thing from Firefox.

    Firefox Rules O.K.

well mine has stopped updating itself, it appears they think my key is invalid.

didn't think that'd happen until SP2, which is why I wasn't going to get it.
