Well, I suppose you have already seen Glowpads on the Internet, but this is a completely new project. I don´t have my camera now to take photos of my glowpad but nevermind.
I have connected two LEDs and put them in a plexiglass. It´s nothing new, right :D But I connected those LEDs on my COM port and made a program called "Glowpad Lighter". I made program which can turn your glowpad On and Off. I programmed it in Visual basic. Here are some pics of a program. You can upload your glowpad pic in it, it has a system monitor, you can minimize it to systray etc.

First have a look at scheme:

This is a program when u start it:

This is a dialog which appears when u click on settings:

Just type your picture path in a box and click on a button, and picture will appear always when u start a program.

    And something about program:

btw this glowpad picture is not mine, I put it here just to test my program.
You can download a program from this address:

Please report me bugs if you notice any, I didn´t notice them. Please post your future requests here :thumb:

isnt plexi a bad surface for optical mice? since it reflects and all that

you should place some mousing surface on it

Plexi is not good for optical mouses, BUT take some smooth sandpaper and then apply it on the plexy surface and u will get usable pad :thumb:
I am working on skins for program, you will be able to choose between red, blue, green and yellow skin

For optical mouses you can put a regular mouse pad over the glowpad, but leave a border so that the glow pad creates a border around the mouse pad.

I really like the idea! Maybe in the future you could add fx like flickering, pulsing, etc. I've tried things like that, but they've failed. So unless you build me one :D , I'm gonna have to stick with the on/off switch :wallbash:

Is it possible to use more than one colour? One one each of several channels? If you did 3 (RGB) you could then make red/green/blue/yellow/orange/pink(purple)/white by using combintions of 1/2/3 channels.

Jsut an idea, don't know if it could be done.

I was actually thinking of something just like this except for usb the other day for my mouse pad.

Is there any way to adapt this to control the power of a specific usb port? I didn't really know where to start looking into it.

    Awsome program anyhow! :thumb:
