Right ... so I was wondering... how many of you have a guitar and/or are in a band. I'm also looking for recommendations of guitars for me to buy.... I play rock, punk, metal some indie and blues if I'm in the mood.... (It would pref be black 2 Single coils 1 hummer, maybe a floyd rose) I have a Epiphone Strat copy and a les paul copy too...
i have 3 guitars at home: 1 Gibson Les Paul 1 Acoustic Yamaha 1 Electro-Acoustic (don't remember what brand) if u play such a wide variety of genres i wold sugest a Gibson Les Paul. it's got a clear sound suitable for any kind of music.
epiphone SG - should be able to pick a half decent one up for ~£140 infact it doesn't matter *too* much - as long as when you play it, you feel good with it - if you're comfortable playing it and enjoy playing it then it's a good guitar for you also - sustain of SGs = *n
I'll add to that, I have an Epiphone Flying-V which is great for the money. They're certainly better value for money than the Fender Squire range in comparison. However, one day, when I'm not paying for PC stuff, the items in my sig will be a reality.
I play Bass, & will play anything (Well almost anything). I have a 1978 USA Fender Precision & a Cheap but really good Squire Precision, which plays just as good, if not better than the Fender.
I have an Ovation 12 string acoutoelectric... nice guitar... limited edition pretty black with mother of pearl... sounds beautiful... good for acoutsic stuff
I play bass and have a Epiphone Thunderbird IV. Looks absolutely gorgeous and because of it's size goes very low. Great value at £300.
That's the thing about us bass players, we're just not as fussy as the "guitar gods" What you need for cheap equipment is a guy in the music shop to think you're someone else... I have no idea who I look like, but hey, can't argue with 20% discount Always been partial to Ibanez for some reason. Tried out a Patrick Eggle once & that was pretty cool. Basswise I have a Washburn MB-4 & love it to pieces, but I'm not a big fan of their guitars.
ive taught myself to play bass on a borrowed woolworths bass. yes you heard right, WOOLWORTHS its a good job im as musical as i am or i think i would have given up. i use my schools bass in my band which is a peavey something or other (and actually quite nice, if not a bit punchy). i cant really afford a bass of my own but would really like a decent one. its great when i get a chance to play it (i also play viola and trombone and i sing so im quite busy musically)
i actually want to star learning but there are 2 things that are stopping me learning to play the guitar (quite interested in learning bass guitar tho) & they are Cost & COST!!!!!!!!! /me still hasent been paid
I own an Ibanez too. Love it. Just make sure the intonation is correct before you buy the stupid thing :/
New guitar tomorrow!!!!! woohoooo!!! My first Electric... Fender squire strat. Nice early xmas present.
I've had one of those for a few months now but I haven't had any time to start learning yet hopefully in the new year a few things will get sorted and I will have some spare time
