If you post in the correct section, you'll get a better responce.

That said, the search function on this forum pulls up a lot of info.

On top of that, for what its worth, if you're buying a new pc, a mid end pc may have a 9800XT but id b willing to bet your gonna see more x3/600s and geforce 6600s.

    DeepBlue

EDIT: and bumping/double posting your question in the wrong section, is only gonna make ppl pissed.

    Sorry but ::
    1. Bumping your thread when it’s at the top, not stopping the bumping thing even when told to.
    2. Changing your mind/adding and making several new posts, in stead of editing the last (after a few minuets).
    3. Starting a new thread when people start to get some were, dose not help.
    4. Pushing at an idea or problem with 2 pages of people saying that’s not the problem or answer.
    5. Content use of your ................... !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 111111111111111 keys, then saying that you need to get a new one when you just got a 6800ultra.

really dose not help and make any one want to reply.

Give him/her a chance it was only 2 mins and second post on bit-tech, so probably a mistake.

ow and a 6600GT looks good for the price.

The 9800 is a series of Radeon graphics cards made by ATi. There's loads of different models eg. AIW, SE, Pro, Pro 256MB, XT 256MB. The XT is the top line card for the 9800 series, therefore it is clocked at higher speeds and iirc, has advanced pixel shaders. To cut a long story short it performs better in games.
It is a good card but an nVIDIA 6600 GT is much better value for money :) Anyway welcome to Bit-Tech forums, in future make sure your thread is posted in the relevant forum so you get help fast and don't get told off by the moderators ;)

    Speek? Inglish? Grafics? Allot?

Punctuating the phrase, "not to make this a USELESS dont post here reply like i get from SOME ppl here" would also be "better inglish".

I really think some people should focus less on other people's language/punctuation and utilise their post more wisely. ie providing a more helpful response.

Boris, your thread is in the wrong forum. I'm sure a mod will come along and move it to hardware at some point.

The 9800XT is a model of card by ATI. There are dozens of different models and versions. The 9800 cards are from the previous generation of ATI cards. Depending on your budget, you can purchase a 9800SE, 9800Pro, or 9800XT, the XT having the best performance.

256Mb is how much memory the graphics card has. Just because a graphics card has more memory than another doesn't mean it's better, since many models of graphics card will have several versions which may have extra memory.

The 9800XT 256Mb is a good graphics card, but for a little extra you can buy a newer nVidia card like a 6600GT with better performance and higher framerates.

    Good luck, boris, and welcome.
