I've been playing around with my system for a while now, and am finally getting somewhere. this is what i have so far. what ya think? Golygus
gotta love non-standard window cuts. nice job on the chrome edging ... thats the hardest to work with ... black stuff is easily twice as flexible.
chrome Well, i confess (before Xen0 tells); I got someone to do the chrome and cut for me: 1) at the time i didn't have a dremmel 2) i was far too inexperienced with modding (aka, this is the first case i have modded visually). Which is a shame really, coz it would have been somehting to be personally proud of (i kinda regret it now). 3) I'm a busy man!!!! (5 days work, 1 day going out, 1 day sleep) I have done the rest myself - the cold cathodes, the paxmate, cable sleeving, grills etc Plans; 1) Quieter 2) Cable tidying (the power to my radeon is really bugging me.) i notice you've got a silent boost HSF would u recomend it? i want somethink quiet but far 2much of a cheapskate(and to inexprenced) to try water cooling. very nice case the window looks great
I like the Silent boost HSF. Its quiet and keeps my XP3200 well cooled (i have had it as low as 20.5 and as high as 42 - which isn't really that high in consideration. the unit is very quiet which is why i purchased it. it could probably do with being lapped (the finish isn't perfect), but for now i don't have the time. Even if you didnt mod it yourself its still something to be proud of. Saying you're dissapointed because it isnt something you can be proud of is like saying DaVinci was a retard because he didnt make half the stuff he designed. The look is awesome, and the cables too. My only recommendation would be to hide that tail coming off your graphics card and to tuck away those IDE cables. The less cables you can see (yes I know they're green and pretty) the better. Use wire ties and all that. Good job.
Now that's why I'm not running a Radeon, but a GF4 No molexes plugged into the graphics card But I haven't seen a window like that before. You've done a really, really good job on that. So how does the PaxMate serve its purpose? Still thinking about getting me some PaxMate myself
The paxmate helps a bit, (very much so when its on the back of the door - gets rid of a lot of optical drive noise when the door is shut). I'm running a radeon 9800XT, its a wee bit more powerful than the GeForce 4 Ti 4600 i used to have (and the GeForce FX5900 from gainward - that was a waste of money), and would rather have power cable there than go back a year or so. Aye, it was coolcasemods when did the cut and chrome - they did a good job too, and a fast turn around! Golygus
