Screwdriver + key = win. That, or take the contact jobby out.

Or stop being clumsy and occasionally look at the screen while you type... ;)

Yeah i completely agree as far as i'm aware i've never really used the Insert key apart from hitting it by accident.

Although if you set it to Smart Insert it may solve your yoghurt related problems! :D

No no no Krikkit, Porkin's problems all stem from looking at the screen too much ;) lol

I vote for using thermite on it :D And to answer your rant/question, nope, never use it. And it always gets knocked just when I don't need it to lol

Ah! Maybe that would explain your yoghurt problems

A few programs refer to different modes of Insert one is called Smart Insert

You dudes obviously have too compact a keyboard if you're hitting insert all the time. Or your fingers are too large. Possibly both.

It's all good in theory, but it's a work keyboard, so I'm loathe to start hacking pieces off, and my work OS is Win 2000 :)jawdrop:) so that link is no use either. Thanks though.

Insert switches between walk and run in some MMO's. Never used it beyond that though lol

How do you manage to keep accidentally hitting insert often enough to make it an annoyance? How small is your keyboard?

With all due respect, it was put there and is there for a perfectly good reason, and yes, I use it. Also, having it on when you don't want it on is the sort of mistake that learning computer users make... I never hit it when I don't mean to have it on. Generally, I'm quite an accurate typist. I don't hit keys that I don't mean to very often.

Must concur with Unicorn. My "Insert" key is placed quite a distance from the keys I use regularly and even with big hands I have never once hit it by mistake.

Not via that route. I'm locked out of regedit and almost all control panel stuff.

There it is. right next to my arrow keys and beneath my shift and ? key. Sorry for being such a retard and inadvertently touching it occasionally. I'll enrol myself on the next 'Computers for Beginners' course I can find.

What it is doing down there? No wonder you've got an issue.

I use it occasionally, actually used it this morning at work.

Good grief. I think the Insert key is the least of your worries:eeek:

I'm unsure what you do for a job but either your IT Department is stuck in the past or your job is entirely focused on legacy work.

I take it they slept through XP and Vista(not that they missed much with this one)?

I believe we're going to cloud in the next few years as well

EDIT: Hang on! Does that mean you'll get Windows 8 in 2022? :wallbash:
