    I really wouldn't bother.....

not that linux isn't good, but it's not for everyone (not yet) and to me it sounds like you are better off sticking with windows.

there are many many different distributions of Linux, from different people - just to confuse you either more. and no one will EVER agree which one is the best, it's all a matter of personal preference.

There's many diiferent distrobutions of Linux. I've only seen a few on the shelves of stores (SuSE, Redhat, and Mandrake). If you are looking for a Distro that is "Like Windows" with it's look and feel I suggest you check out Lycoris, and Lindows. They have a user interface that is more user friendly, and will be familiar for Windows users. There are other distros that are very easy to install. The best thing for you to do is to get a list of the distros, decide what you are looking for, and then make your own decision. Also remember just because a product is not on store shelves does not mean it's no good.

    Linux Distros

A good place to look at what's available in the world of linux dstributions is <http://www.linuxiso.org>. You can also download iso images if you have lots of bandwidth and a CD burner.

You might also want to look for a linux user group in your area - they're full of friendly people who will happily make you copies of the latest distros and help you set things up. :)

www.linuxemporium.co.uk - a very good source to get linux from very cheap including P&P u can get a distro for a tenner and still have change. :)

Linux is also a lot more advanced than windows so prepared to be scared when u first boot up ;)
