What is ya'lls opinions of the modular power supplies? I am really wanting to get one. I have seen several of the more popular brands out there like Ultra. If I don't get an Ultra, I want the wires to be presleeved in something other than black. I saw one site that sleeves the wires for you but it was about $40. Anybody know of other places that ship the psu's already sleeved for less than that? Any help would be great.
Would recommend the Tagan EasyCon range, extremely quiet, stable, and pre-sleeved (but in black, I'm afraid). However, I think the Hiper Modular series come with coloured sleeving depending on which model you purchase P.S. Don't get the Ultra X-Connect. No better than generic supplies any more since they changed manufacturers
DO NOT GET THE X-Connect!!!!!!! Many reviews have said meltdowns happen, Im getting the OCZ ModStream 520, just my opinion though.
Ditto in both ways. The ModStream is really nice, and comes braided silver. I think all modular PSUs come braided anyway to stop things from tangling up.
Well my current psu is sleeved in black, not to mention I had to extend the wires by 14" for the case I made. The new case I'm doing is going to have uv green wires and I want the psu wires that way as well.
The Antec Neopower's pretty spiffy. All sleeved, really quiet. It's only 480 watts, but that should be plenty for anything short of 6800 Ultra SLI with RAID 10 Raptors.
