need help

    i am not sure if i should post this here or not but here it goes. i am having probs with random lock ups. i could be using my computer for as little as 5 mins and it would lock up. sometimes i can use my computer for an hour before it locks up.

    i am not sure if it is hardware related or os related. i am running windows xp sp2 with all the updates. i have norton corp for anti virus, adware se, spybot, microsoft anti spyware, and some other things on it. now for the hardware. i am running a 3200+ amd 64 bit cpu, asus K8V SE Deluxe motherboard, CORSAIR ValueSelect 1 gig (2x512), Thermaltake 480watt power supply. i

    Download HCI memtest and give it a good runthrough for at least 4 hours if possible. Any errors within this window are unacceptable.

    What's the hard drive?

    It could be getting errors and causing the lock ups.

    it is a seagate barracuda. 80 gig (main drive)

    2 250 gig maxtors
