Came home to find my router flashing orange lastnight and having problems getting it back to normal.
My ISP is Sky and I use a Belkin N600 with the hacked settings, but it seemed to reset itself. The SSID and all the other settings were back to factory.

I have managed to get most of the settings restored and can connect to the internet wired, and the wifi seems to be working, but when I disconnect the ethernet cable the wifi doesn't work.

If I then re-connect the cable I can get access again. it also seems to be running a bit volatile, second or third tabs dont seem to load properly either.

I have restarted everything and didn't do anything.

I also find that the net only runs properly if the router settings page is open in the browser too.

    Any help greatly appreciated.

I know you said that the settings went back to factory, but have you done a hard reset on both the router and modem? You may also want to check if the firmware needs to be updated?

When you restarted everything, did you power cycle the devices in order? (modem first and then router)

Can you test different WiFi security settings? Let's say if this is happening on WPA2, can you try to use WEP or no security, just to see if this setting is causing any issues? Only reason I ask that is because I had a netgear awhile back that kept disconnecting when it was using WPA2, but worked fine when it was using WEP or was just open.

Rang Belkin and got through to India, but persevered and kind of back up and running. I am now using wi-fi. however it is still a bit buggy, some pages just dont want to load esp with new tabs.
