Hi guys, This is my very first serious mod i am going to do, I've been reading the amazing logs on the forum for agess and now i finally have one to show to you guys! This is just a simple mod apart from 1 bit but apart from that it is very simple. I have a friend who is in love with the anime c3 which has a girl called fear kubrick in it. He asked me to mod a case based on the theme and he wanted it black and pink. His budget is quite low so i'm going to try and do it on the cheap. I am going to use the Shinobi case from Bitfenix. Here goes! : This is my sketchup idea Excuse the bad sketchup and rendering skills lol The ideas have been gradually changing as we've been talking about it and we came up with a final simple design. the side panel will have the same window as the image above and will be laser engraved with this image on the window: The front panel has been changed will be just a square with the c3 logo engraved on to it NOW, for the hard part, me and my friend has been discussing this for while now and this is unknown territory for me. For the front block of acrylic, we want to turn that into a power button! that's not the hardest thing but what he wants (because he is a big fighting gamer) is arcade stick switches positioned on each corner of the front acrylic block wired up to the 2pin power on the motherboard. I am a noob in this area and i think i can make it work but i would need to make a paralell circuit to make all 4 connect into 1 wire and if any of them are pressed down it would complete the circuit and power the system up. We were thinking of using cherry switches aswell. Here is a diagram of what I mean: I would have to make some brackets to hold the switches aswell. Has anyone ever used a microswitch to power on their pc? and is it possible to make it so if any of the 4 are pushed down or even all 4 it will power up the sytem?? update 1 Hey guys! got the case now! time to start painting. some images of the case: sorry bout crappy phone picks, i will get a camera soon. taken apart: sorry bout the random shoes. yes that is an electric bb gun in the background ^^ love it. time to paint parts! I just wanted some pink accents, i don't want to overload the case with pink. some materials: now to paint: Window is going to be cut soon as i don't like the triangle window. sorry for picture overload! ive re-attached everything and post some pics when i've taken some. until next time! update 2 wiring done! i made the switches! and they work!!! im gna upload some pics of the way it is wired up. a wiring block http://i51.photobucket.com/albums/f393/Gackuto-San/c3 shinobi/20111105_001.jpg the switches and the wires. I spileced the power from the power connection and wired it into the wiring block and then wires coming out of the wiring block into the cherry switches. excuse the tape, its temporary ^^ Here is a link to the video i took with my phone showing it working. http://youtu.be/7KZapE--BEc I then started playing with the pink led's and started cutting the wires and experimenting and i tried to make toggle switch! i replaced the old reset button with a toggle switch. and then wired everything up, i was scared of cutting the wires on the led but it all worked out well ^^ all wired up ^^ done: now i need to sand polish and paint it.
update 3 Hi guys an update! alot of things have been keeping me busy and i missed the deadline but he needs the comp asap, its all up and running but the asthetics aren't finished. the place i bought my acrylic from screwed up and didnt send me my order and blah blah blah so i had to order another piece and when that came it was too thick so now i have to order another one. newais, here we go, this is how it looks atm. speks are: i5 2500k asus p8z68 lx sapphire 6950 2gb ocz agility 3 60gb ssd corsair cx600w 8gb corsair vengeance watercooling bits are xspc dual bay res and pump combo and single rad with a ek supreme ltx with some compression fittings. Will post back when its all done! All that's left is to engrave the acrylic and stick it in! see you soon!
ty thank you mate yeh don't have an dslr lying about so i can't take better ones, im gonna ask my cousin to borrow his one for final pics ^^
