Hey guys, i've decided my recently-purchased Corsair DDR is getting RMA'd because it clocks like a bag of peanuts (won't run 200FSB @ 11,2,2,2 with 2.9V). So, the question is, which RAM shall i get? I'm after a 1GB set (2*512MB) of decent PC4000 RAM. There are two options so far: 1) Go for some more Corsair, some XMS4000 non-PT for about £175 from microdirect.co.uk which is where i'll be getting the RMA from. 2) Go for some of this this (the one at the top). My big question is, can i use the Geil RAM reliably on an nForce 2 chipset? It does say it's optimized for P4 chipsets, but it doesn't say about it being good or bad on nForce 2.
I would highly recommend the OCZ PC3200 Platinum Rev.2. I have some on an nf7-s and it doing pc4000 speeds, well pc3936 to be exact, at 2.5,3,3,11 and 2.8V.
Well it looks like good stuff, although i must say i wasn't that convinced because it's so cheap... I've noticed a few people on the forums using similar, i was just checking it's decent on an nForce 2 chipset really.
Crucial ballistix might also be worth considering for nf2, as it can often do better timings than tccd at the 240-250 range, many doing 2.5-2-2-x, might be a bit of gamble though as quite afew have been RMAd aswell.
