If one had access to a CNC mill, working to a tolerance of just 2mm thick would be easy enough. But doing this BY HAND with a Dremel just beggars belief!

Nice photo work on the title banner :D
If done on a CNC...it would no longer be special.

Actually, if it wasn't for the double-sided tape on the Click Wheel, this would be a totally reversible mod, wouldn't it Zap? You could just pop off the cover and use the original again.

Thanks - it's actually your really nice close-up photo that makes it look good. All I did was the funky wood-texture text. Seemed an obvious thing to do, and I found a tutorial via Google easily enough. :)

I'm amazed that you cam make a chunk of wood fit so well and seamlessly with the rest of the ipod.

    that is simply amazing!

I have one question, though. How did you manage to munt it on the ipod itself? i can see that you haven't made those little holes for the screws.

Looks nice I guess. Not sure why everyone is going crazy over it, its just a peice of carved wood that was fit very meticulously. Sorry to be a buzzkill, just think ive already seen better iMods (trademark pending :p) than that.

    Zap does it again... awesome.

  13. STFU !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That done by hand is EXTREMELY intracate work, nigh impossible!

You make like the look of other iP*d mods but it's not "just a peice of carved wood that was fit very meticulously"

    SWEET WORK ZAP! :thumb:

I have to say it's damn good work but I wouldn't say it looks supurb. I think it would look much better if you left the wood with a matt finish. The glossyness just makes it look fake and unappealing.
