Too bad the "live stream" isn't really live. I'm watching some of it on a national news channel here in Denmark (TV2 News) and they're 1:11 minutes ahead of the internet live stream. Still, this is riveting to watch. I hope all goes according to plan. It'll be an amazing achievement!
He's just passed Joe Kittinger's point of 102,800ft. Now's the time to tune is as it's not going to be much longer before he "step's out". edit, damn ninja's
I breathed a huge sigh of relief when his freefall stabilised. Worrying that his vizor is fogging up - Chute deployed
Yeah, I was worried when he started spinning. I think he pulled early though, I think the visor gave problems.
shame he didn't get the longest freefall record. He could have easily done it, as it looked like he pulled the chute around 8-10k feet; roswell is around 3500ft. On a side note, why did they cut the live feed so quickly? It probably would have been pretty easy to grab the SD cards from the bodycams and air that while we waited for the record confirmations and the capsule to come down.
I'd say they'll keep the bodycam footage for upcoming documentaries. I think the visor spoiled the record for him. He said it was fogging up like hell, so maybe he was unable to assume the correct position for maximum freefall time. He seemed to be head down for most of it.
Absolutely incredible stuff to watch! Myself and about 10 other ZiiP people were on TS watching the livefeed You utter legend!
