Just setup my parents spanky new vaio lappy and wireless net access. The problem is that there are several access points in the area, and one of them somehow has been setup for auto connect, even tho i cannot connect to it? I want to set up the our AP as the default auto connect? How?

Its windows xp home, just cannot find the setting, feel all n00by again!

    Thanks in advance :thumb:

right click the wireless network card in network connections
    click the "Wireless Networks" tab
click "properties" on the offending wireless networks
    click the "connection" tab
untick the "connect when in range" box

I would also ensure you move the preffered network to the top of the list, as it processes top to bottom.

    Hope this helps.
