ok this is strange just plummbed in all my new equipment to my pc.. go to post....nothing so methodically start taking things out.. ram graphics etc.. nothing worked untill i removed the sound card.. xfi extreme music. as soon as i removed that the system booted up fine and was able to put in a fresh install of win7 64bit. now i really want to be able to use this sound card... any ideas? cheers in advance matt
Try another PCI slot? Maybe a faulty xfi? BIOS update? When you say nothing, do you literally mean nothing - no leds, no psu coming on, no fans spinning? Or would it at least post?
I had that happen one day with the first PCI X-Fi I had. Turns out it was broken, so I replaced it with a PCI-E OEM X-Fi. I only had the Music edition which cost me £34 at the time, and the OEM one was quite a bit less, and went into my 1x PCI-E slot. Anyway rambling aside, my card was dead, yours may be too. RMA it if its brand new. Btw, loving the Buddy Jesus avatar
