old news i suppose it being yesterday (and me missing it being on trains ) DEAD god he was funny - anyone else thinkso or is it jus' me? ...neeed goon show stuff ...stumbles off edit: linky http://news.bbc.co.uk/hi/english/entertainment/tv_and_radio/newsid_1844000/1844049.stm
I heard some of his stuff on the radio here yesterday, sounded like a real funny show. The played some stuff with Peter Sellers, It was a riot
Check out his book on being a soldier in the second world war. Tre good. He did some brilliant drawings of things he thought they should have used ( a giant tank for example). One of the coolest things about him was that at such an old age he was still a total rebel. He used to really rip the piss out of the people giving him lifetime achievement awards, and I think he was even a little cynical about getting his award from the Queen.
a sad loss recently opened some ceremony or something, and started with "i was going to read a Shakespeare poem, but he never read any of mine, so im not going to bother"
yah, sad loss... something funny that he said before he died: "I'm not scared of death, I just don't want to be there when it happens" i liked that
