I got one of these dirt cheap, only because it has a 226W pelt in it, figuring id pull the thing apart and have a nice 226W pelt. Thing is though its put together with some sort of alan(sp?) key, the size of which i havn't been able to find! I bought a 18 peice set and none of them fit. Does anyone know how to get this thing apart? I could just cut the bolts holding the 2 sides together, but that would wreck it completely, and i might find it useful for something in future... Any ideas? p.s It seems to be about 2.25mm iirc.
Probably you have to get American size hex bits. These work in fractions of inches, whereas UK hex bits are sized in millimeters.
*nod* That size you give is inbetween a 1/10 and 1/12 inch alan key..pretty small so it might be hard to get ahold of. Good luck! -OMP
3/32" I think. If I calculated it right. Just checked on a swiftech block I have lying around, and it uses 3/32" for sure.
Yup thats the right size At least it is on the ~2 year old swifty block I've got sitting in my basement. Heh, I forgot I had one laying around to actually *cough* CHECK for the proper size . Luck! -OMP
cheers guys, you were right Ive taken it a part but theres not markings on the pelt, its 50x50mm so im assuming at 226W, is there any other 50x50mm pelt that arn't 226W???
Not 100% sure but its more than likely. I have seen pelts in all shapes and sizes and all kinds of values iirc.
