hello i have been using the logitec mx510 for about 3 to 4 years now, and its starting to show some wear and tear. do you think that a G5 would be worth upgrading to?

Ive got a mx518 atm and ive had it for about a year.. its still pretty good but im also goin to upgrade to a g5 sooner or later.. my mate has one and it is REALLY nice. it is different as far as sensitivity goes.. one thing i like about the g5 is the adjustable weight in the bottom.. id say its worth upgrading to a g5 but then again.. im still used to a mx518.. ur choice mate.

    Yup!

I still use my older MX518 on another rig, but I'm using a G5 on this one, and loving it :cooldude:

I'm on my secong logitech mouse now, only because my first one stopped working. Not sure what model number it is (I'll have to dig the box out). But it's the wireless and laser one, which is shapped so it fits snuggly into the natural hand curves. It's got me so many kills playing CSS :D

Are any of those mouses symmetrically designed for lefties as well? I can't seem to find a good mouse for left-handers :(

None of the ones already mentioned are... but the
    Logitech MX610 Cordless Laser Mouse
is specifically designed for left-handers :hip:

I had the G5 and it worked fine until i broke it. Nothing major just the left mouse button stopped being able to click and drag.

I'm now on a MX Revolution, so much more comfortable and the mouse wheel is uber. Not as twitchy, but i mainly play RPGs and not FPS i don't notice it.

As an active counter-strike player I used to use a MX700 for years but recently moved to a G5. The G5 is a big upgrade and the difference is really noticeable. Don't buy a wireless mouse!

I have a G7 and its great. No lag at all. Only problem is that the battery life isn't as good as I hoped it would be. It lasts 1-3 days depending on use. ~3 days with light use (web browsing) all day, and about 8-10hours gaming. Its a good idea to turn it off when its not being used, as it eats the batteries when its idling too.

edit: oh and there is another problem... the battery has a tendency to slide back into the charger when you hit the eject button so you have to hold it at an angle so it falls out :p

You forgot to say that you get two batteries, so when one's dead you swap it over with the one in the charger, just hit the button on the charger hard and it shoots out.

Edit - I took my G7 to i27 and it had no problems

I've been using a G5 almost since the first day they were released. The accuracy is so superior to any other mouse I have ever used. My only gripe is the notchy scroll wheel, I perfer a smooth scroll wheel. The driver set is great too, it allows you to set the sensitivity of your mouse to 5 settings between 400dpi & 2000dpi. Well worth the $$$ IMO.
