Ok, so i want my mod to look good, which means all the minor details need to work...
Sooo.. if i were to change the usb sockets, is there only 4 wires that i need to pass through, or is it not as simple as this?
    Cheers

Yup, 4 wires. The red one and the black one are for power, so will generally be fine. However, if you're going to make this more than a few inches long, you should make sure the white and green wires are a twisted pair to avoid interference.

    Pin Name Color Description

    1 VCC Red +5V
    2 D− White Data −
    3 D+ Green Data +
    4 GND Black Ground

You should be fine just dont mix up the data and the power.
