There are sooo many movies about everything else! Chickens, ants, aliens, monsters, school life, everything but only a few ever made based on vehicles, which both boys & girls like! If the bank would let me, i'd make an animation based on talking vehicles. Boats, planes, cars, trucks, trains, the lot! I've got a few ideas for storylines, the amount of money it would make would be fcuking epic, and a part of this could be used to fund the sequel a couple of years later. If the supply of vehicle based animations is still lame by some chance, then damn, I could end up making 5 parts!!! So does anyone know how much it would cost to get around 120 minutes of decent cgi animation done? By decent i mean something like the quality of what you see in pixar or disney movies - now i don't care how many hundreds of millions those movies cost to make, i'm talking about getting only the video animated. No, scripts, storlines, voices, music or marketing costs, just the video!
a hell of a lot is the answer, having the ideas is onething, building them and animating them is another. iirc theres a 3d studio not far from me that does CGI for tv ads and special shows, cnt think of hte name tho
Animated movie with talking car? If only they'd done one with K.I.T.T and the Hoff. That would have been cheesecake of pure awesomeness.
it would have been tragic, just look at the mess that was knightrider 08 /me shudders, cgi cant capture the 80's cheese factor of awesome
They did, it was rubbish. Team Knight Rider or something I think it was. vehicle(ish) based Car toons: Pole Position M.A.S.K. Go-bots Transformers Jimbo & the Jetset Jayce & the Wheeled Warriors Ghostbusters (filmation one, not the 'Real' one - Ghost Buggy was a talking car/plane/sub or whatever). Speed buggy (sort of like scooby doo with a car) Terrahawks (thunderbird-ish series) Joe-90 Brum Perils of Penelope Pitstop (as in Wacky Races)
terrahawks was that not the one with the freaky dice with faces and the serously seriously creepy brother and sister if so then let me just say that I hated that program. Dice are not meant to roll on their own and then explode its just not natural.
How about the short film that inspired Pixar's Cars? Or Ivor the Engine? Idris the Dragon! http://www.smallfilms.co.uk/ivor/
Also: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Budgie-Little-Helicopter-Air-Show/dp/B0002CH9D2/ref=pd_sim_b_2 Seem to be several DVDs of that show.
Disney had a movie about a postal-plane? Think it was called pedro. Is on one of the Classics. Believe it is "saludos Amigos"
Did you know that during the fifties Pizza was sometimes described or marketed as Italian rarebit? I don't know why I choose to mention it.
..that reminds me of some books I had which had a bright yellow plane that flew between the channel islands having adventures... it was called Joey (based on a real aircraft, G-JOEY)... and another book which had Persevere, which was a deHavilland Dragon Rapide... that post took me back (The book was called: Bravo, Persevere)... sadly neither of these made it to animated format Still, if you want something to read the kid at bedtime
