I have a pretty cheap 19" TFT monitor - it's pretty nice, but I have a small problem. There are two small black insects behind the screen... I know they're not burnt out pixels, or anything, because: # They're smaller than 2*1 pixels each. # I saw one of them moving around slowly, and I could make it run anyway by gently poking the screen. So my question is - is there any way to get them out? CC
Thought I recognised this: http://forums.bit-tech.net/showthread.php?t=96338 I guess it's not all that uncommon
Lol I can't believe this Like c'mon things like that just.. don't happen.. defo I'd be upset if one morning when I switch on my lovely display there would be some little fellas running around.
They're pretty small - like less than 1 pixel wide and less than 2 pixels long - so I'm not that upset. I'll take a screenshot for you CC
Yea i have one of those .. really small but relatively long in comparison to their width. Its stuck dead in the top right of my laptop screen i tried taking everything apart but its near enough impossible for me to get at him.
It was so cool when it was still alive - I could press gently on my screen to make shadows, and it ran away from them! I could make it run in little circles and do circuits on the screen. Finally, I pushed into a corner of the screen and made a little semi circle of blu-tac on the screen to create a shadow "coral" for the insect so it died away from the middle CC
This is weird, never hear of lcd bugs before. Maybe they`re drawn to it by the light or heat. Or do they get stuck there during production?
The Zygote column in Computer Shopper #230 talks of the thrips louse which apparently has developed a taste for LCD screens. I thought it was a piss-take but Wikipedia has it and the pictures match. Cure is to introduce Harlequin ladybirds or the predatory minute pirate bug.
