From what i've read there it should be able to be accessed via your web browser. Turn the Router on, and connect it up with an ethernet cable to your hub/switch/single PC. Now on a PC on the network (or the single PC) type in the IP of the router in your web-browser (usually going to be 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1 or 10.0.0.1). All being well your should get up a config screen (after you've entered the correct password) then all you have to do is add in your username and password to the routers own modem configuration.

If none of this works there should be a hardware reset button on the router somwhere: Hold this down for 10 seconds, then power off the router and power it on again. This should return all the settings to factory defaults such as passwords etc. Your best bet is looking on google for the default password and usernames or even an online manual for your router to set it up correctly.

*Ps. This is a very rough guide, seeing as I though I have never used this type of router. Your best asking the person you bought it off for the password and username it uses, or the IP it resides on*

more then likely unless the original owner changed it the standard password for the config screen is "admin", or some variation thereof, at least that has been my experience with most brands of routers

It all depends on the brand of Router. Try sourcing a manual mate :)

The PureTek site also has the manual. That might help.

Yeah i would start out with what Gandi69 says, find a way into the firmware. You might want to crack open its case and make sure its not crammed with dust too, I got a free switch from my school (2 of them actually) but one was loaded up with enough dirt to start a garden and was causing one of its ports to act funny. It was better after a good blow out.
