Distributed What cpu power do you have crunching

    Well as the title says what do you have:-

    1. amd xp 1800+ @ 1677 for about 4-5 hrs a day
    2. amd k7 800 @ 950 going 24 hrs
    3. PIII 933 going 6 hrs a day
    4. Dual celeron 400 @ 450 going 24 hours
    These are all for UD.

    All 24x7 running Genome@Home....I need a new hobby :D

    I bet your room doesn't need any heating with that lot going.
    Now if I could only get that lab of 20 x p3 933mhz on the task :( , but alas not.

    Just got one mean server p2-350 x 2 runnin 24/7 SETI and UD (One CPU each)... will hopefully expand at some point!

    LOL! My secret is: I have them all in the loft and have the Keyboard/Video/Mouse/sound/USB routed down into my bedroom....totally silent and the systems stay cool in the loft :dude:

    Right now I've got my PC's doing UD, as opposed to seti:
    • 1.4GHz TBird
    • 900MHz CeleronII (100fsb)
    • 600MHz PIII Speed-step
    All of them are on 24/7 for the most part.

    Main Rig : Duron 950 @ 1266
    Upto 10 Hours a day

    File server : AMD K6-2 500
    24 Hours a day

    Work PC : AMD K6 300
    Upto 8 Hours a day

    Parents : Cyrix 233
    Upto 1 Hours a day

    Sisters : P2-233
    Upto 3 Hours a day

    Athlon 1333mhz/256DDR & 12hrs per day.

    I don't know why but it takes this fairly powerful machine (if i do say so myself!) forever to complete 1 unit, up to 33hrs in fact. Why is this?
    Can someone help me?

    I'm running SETI on a p3 500, a p2 266 and an iMac 400 here, but someone else in the department here is running it on our number cruncher, Gold, which is a 25 processor Sun box with 5 gig of ram.....

    Ive got the following running UD
    • TBird 1.4 running 24/7
    • P3 750 running 24/7
    • Athlon 800 running for about 5-7 hours a day :)

    odd really... some units take longer than others. are all units this slow or just the odd unit ?
