I use this long cloth thing I nicked from work which was used for resting beers on. It is a reaaalllyyy smooth material, and sits on the width of my desk so doubles as a wrist wrest! Also has Pepsi written all across it!
i got one from www.HandStands.com that works amazingly and only cost me like $3 the have ones specifigly designed for optical and laser mice. its as thin as a sheet of paper and has a silicon backing that damn near glues the pad to the desk top. Here is the optical pad i have , it has a small grid of squares on it.
+1 for the razer !"! such a go0d surface. not to big not to small. has a speed side and a low sensitivity side. what more could you want?
What's the best way to clean my mousemat? It's the Ratpadz GS so it's plastic. The dirt from years of use have filled in the tiny cracks and it's not very smooth at the moment. I've tried soapy water but that didn't really get rid of it. Any ideas? Kitchen cleaner? Or will that mess up the plastic?
A mild detergent and a nail brush. Furniture polish (or silicone spray, if you have it) after it's clean for that extra bit of zip.
Razer Mantis Control mat here... Problem is that the wife thinks it's one great coffee coaster and the daughter things it's a doodle-pad.
currently at home : http://www.officedepot.com/ddSKU.do?level=SK&id=336840&Nr=200000&N=255904 4294960246&Ne=5&An=browse Allsop® Soft Cloth Mouse Pad, 15 1/2" x 13", Blue Raindrop at work: generic blue think one that i drew a grid on in black sharpie so it would track. i was using my old max payne freebie untill i installed tiger woods 2k6 and the drop off of the mat at the end of the swing would hook my shots horribly. i have it turned wrong way around so it is 15" deep, and only 13 wide. fits my keyboard tray just fine.
