Well I've been reading the boards lately and seeing all of you youngsters are of to College and Uni I just thought I'ld remanise about my younger days and find out what sports people play. Whan I was at Uni I Skied for the 7 years I was there, Played Ultimate Frisbee (Those people off to Warwick Join the Bears, Sheffiled join Phat Eds, York is the Yorkie Bar Kids, Cambridge is Cambridge Blues, LSE is UTI (Under The Influence) or UTT (Under The Thumb) for the mixed team, and if you ever venture as far East as Hull then The Ultimate Warriors is for you (Plug Plug Plug )) I also played in goal for the mixed Lacross team. It was great to be able to see some fit girls running around, but they are hard as nails underneath. I once had the ball hurled at me and it foung it's way between my padding to my little friends down south and I wasn't wearing a box! That HURT!! If you are going to Uni take up a sport you have never tried as its very cheap and is a great way to socialise. Wednesday night was AU (Athletic Union) night so many beers were had and then on to a club (that I had a free pass to for about 4 years) and it was about 30p a pint That's the end of my remenising Meblin
Just mess around on my skateboard every now and then Also used to play basketball a lot. May be starting that back up soon. I love that game so much. So exhilarating.
Pretty much play anything. Play basketball every day, as well as for the college team, just like K said, amazing sport. Also play for the golf team, another amazing sport. Play soccer just for kicks, Joining a team is probably the best thing that a new student can do. Allows the to meet people with at least 1 thing in common, and their are always away matches and away tournaments, so always plenty of fun.
sport???? please. i am a musician AND a computer "geek" oh alright. i like badminton. none of your sissy badminton. i like it good and hard and fast
COUGH, SPLUTTER!!!!! - My fave sport is sleeping, I'm not a horribly active person but I'm very agile and supprisingly strong I like anything that has to do with meh speed boat, skiing is out of the question because my pa can't quite grasp the concept of start SLOWLY. And I wouldn't trust any of me mates behind the wheel..... Taking people on the biscuit is pretty cool... memories... "Steve, is Huw ok?" (Steven doesn't bother looking behind) "Yeah he's fine." (5 minutes later Steve looks around.) "****, Huw's about 2 miles away!" Damn, now I Know I should have let him drown.... *mutters* Damn jello puddin' eatin' mudther *mutters*
I just started jumping out of perfectly good planes. Skydiving is awesome! You can't imagine what it's like to just hang there several hundred meters above ground! Can't wait to I get fully licensed so I can take my camera and camcorder with me - will post pics...
i used to play a lot of badminton and will probably do some more when i go to uni and i was thinking of trying ultimate frisbee when i get to cam, cause it looked fun I'm a fat ******* tho so i don't like too much exercise Alaric.
It is great fun and very tackticle. It's also not as hard as it looks and you can throw the disc quite impresivly (with a little practice) that will impress anyone Meblin
basketball soccer Football (american) tennis softball Mountain Bike (I used to race before I moved over here, now I just ride with mates) running basketball is what I spend most time on though. I have a behind the back no-look crossover that I've been perfecting. I'm only 6 foot, so I generally play "short white boy position" or shooting guard I do alright though. [edit] I've played ultimate frisbee a few times before, when I was in uni mainly. It's a fun game, lots of running. I have m4d frisb33 sk33lz.
Well, I exert my self by climbing up to my seat in the Tetley Bitter stand at Franklin's Gardens when I go and see Northampton Saints RFU play... The only real sport I could say I play is Golf. And I play very badly! I also like diving, but I don't suppose you could class this as a sport - It's more a hobby.
Only sport I play these days is golf. I'd love to jump out of an airplane, but my wife has a problem with that. Back in the day (when I was in school) I ran cross country and track (distance events....no less than a mile, preferably 5-10k....I'm a slow white boy after all).
Then maybe you should get a bumper sticker for your car that reads - "You need a lot of balls to play golf the way I do."
its not so bad with me for the golf, since my little bro is an international and gets free balls from titleist/acushnet. it works to both our advantages, the balls he has played with go into the practice bag, and i nick them outta there.
Just play 5 a side football , couple of nights a week. Got asked if I wanted to join a 11 a side Sunday league team but cant be ****d. When im asleep im an F1 driver , does that count ?
Used to do : BMX Freestyle and flatland. Mountain Biking. Skateboarding. Sports I play now : Golf, and erm, bit-tech?
