    Hi!

Yes I know that this might be the wrong place to ask about this but Iäm starting to get quite frustrated.

I live in sweden and the only company that is situated in Sweden that sell QT110 is Farnell, but they don't sell to private persons. I know that digikey has the component but they take 22£ in shipping and handling for components that costs about 9£. So I've tried futurlec but they don't have QT110 in stock anymore and will probably not have it in stock again. OK I've even tried with Saelig but they take about 60$ in shipping and handling to Sweden.

So does anyone know another company that has QT110 and doesn't cost a fortune in shipping, it doesn't have to be the one with DIL connections as long as it works. It doesn't have to be QT110 it can be another similar IC as well, I'm going to use it to control three switches. Anyone? Please! I've been looking for this for about two weeks now.

And yes it's for a HTPC project.

    Thanks in advance

Pay for it and I'll order you one in the UK, then ship it to you. :)

    You Cant

    They are NOT ROHS compliant

they have pulled all products off the shelf and are currently
    re-designing for lead free... (110 - 110h)

Digi-key does NOT have them (I asked via phone)

Futurelec (.bomb) is listing them but dont buy there!

I placed an order with them many months back (Jan)
got charged within a week and still no components in hand
so I'd offer to wait until a real vendor has them in hand.

They were projected to ship by q4 '06

    Crap.

Well I did order them from futurlec when thier homepage said that they had it in stock but got an email that they canceled that in my order due to that it's not in stock anymore. I got the other stuff and actually got all the money back for the QT110 aswell.

So basicly it's impossible to get the QT110 at the moment unless I would like to pay 60$ in shipping and handling.

Farnell (that's where i bought them) also carries the QPROX series, i haven't checked for a long time but indeed RoHS might have changed the product line up a bit.

Farnell do ship to private people (at least the Australian site).

And they ARE RoHS now, the part number on au.farnell.com is 9775722.

I just shipped a bunch of QT110's as of wednesda from the Australian site, but I can't see why their other international sites would be that different? I have had a quick look see at the UK version of the farnell site and it looks exactly the same ordering wise.

Maybe shoot an email to farnell or give the branch near you a ring and see what they can do.

EDIT: And I just got them via courier just this morning... so I can definitely confirm that the QT110 is available for delivery to private people in Australia at least... though they didn't have any of the other chip i asked for... so now I have to pay another bunch of shipping when i get an alternative! B*ST*RDITOS!

    Denied, thanx.

Hmm that is strange cuz the local branch here in Sweden, which by the way they ahev missspelled on thier webpage it says Sweeden on the UK site, they don't ship to private persons. But on the UK site they don't care about that, odd. Well wel.. I'll give it a shot and order from the UK site instead.

I'll let all of you know what happens.

Hmm the UK Farnell site says "You're not allowed to export to that country. Please select a different shipping address" Guessing that is can sense that I'm trying to ship to sweden instead of the UK.

So much for the European Union :S

Can you actually call the Swedish branch? I think that would be your best bet if you haven't already tried that one, the customer service people I have spoken to have been pretty helpful and knowledgeable so far.

Good luck with it... i can't get my circuit to work, doheth!

I've actually called them and they said no we only ship to companies at the moment, we might sell to private persons in the future. You only chance is if you know someone that has thier own company.

Farnell UK ship private but there's a £20 minimum order for non-account credit/debit card orders and £4.25 delivery on orders under £30 (to UK only). Export orders - they aren't interested unless you want a lot.

They have the QT110-DG 8-pin DIL in stock, £2.13 ex VAT.

Futurlec, the only time I've had a problem it was my fault, a typo in the credit card number. Unlike some UK firms they answer emails promptly.
