Now usually, I try to keep all the wires from my PC looking fairly tidy. However, I seem to have rather let it slip recently...check this out :

Overally, there are two 6-way power adaptors running off the one socket, and a few other plugs that aren't plugged in. My speakers buzz when I turn the lights on :worried:

That's powering this little lot :

So come on, show us your wires

I hate wires.. they ALWAYS snake around each other and become impossible to untangle.

That's how my wires look after I clean them up. I have a lot of video equipment and computer equipment in the same place, so I have one 10 power socket hub and one 6 power socket hub. They are connected to a three power socket hub... And I still have trouble powering all my devices! Not to start talking about the video/audio wires... bah! I neatened them up once, but it's limited what can be done in one day... Sorry for no pics.

Yesterday I had to set up 20 machines - in the space of two desks. One had eight PCs under it with one on the side (wouldn't fit underneath) the 8 under the desk are wired up to two four port switches so I only needed two monitors but I needed one last monitor of the 9th PC because there was no more room on the switch. The second desk has 8 PCs under it and another 4 stacked on top of each other on the side. That's another three switches and three monitors to control all 16 PCs. If you can imagine the mess on cables under than desk is massive. They are powered by something like 5 socket extensions which each are plugged into another extension which then plugs into just the one wall socket. I don't know how safe that is but is was the only wall socket available in that room. You should have posted this yesterday - might have got a piccie.

edit: also I had to connect each PC to a couple of 24 port hubs so yet more cables were added to the mess.

There's metres and metres of the stuff there behind the TV. There's also 5 network cables coming in the other side of the PC, but they're all dead tidy, coming in in 5 parallel lines. All components running off of two 6-way gangs, powered from a double wall socket.

Love the comic strip :D. Reminds me of yesterday - ah the memories. In fact I was in that exact situation. As well as setting up 20 or so machines I had to help my brother wire the whole office with patch cable. We had about 10 25 meter boxes so there was no shortage. My brother used this fact to make sure each cable we wired up was going to be long enough to get to the server room - had about untangle about a heap of 12 wires each about 10 meters long about five times! :eeek: You know you can get pretty good at untangling after a bit of practice ;).
