    Have a look, i can't speak german

    http://www.rage3d.de/forum/ftopic597.html

    14k 3dmarks from the x800, compared to 11k from the 6800u

I didn't think the X800 was going to do it tbh

    EDIT: very sceptical...p00 tbh

    it's the birth of 3DGuessMark04™

I don't believe it til I see it for myself and actually see a few sites publishing the results on release day, predictions just annoy me in all honesty :grr:

This has got to be complete bullsh*t. Think about it. If ATI was really getting this kind of performance, for what reason would they keep it in? ATI wasnt even expecting this kind of competition from Nvidia. I'm betting this was made by some ATI fanboy who is desperate to try to make has beloved company look good after they have stayed silent since the announcement of the 6800 Ultra.

Edit: LOL at the above post :hehe: :D

dude you douche bag, ATIs using new archtitexture with the R300 marchitexture enabled plus they did somin Nvidia wish they had too tehehe
remeber Low k process? ATI does it better than Nvidia and i cant over clock my 5200 ultra at all but my stock power color 9200 with a passive heatsink has some good ocing capabilities :D dont be pissed if ATI does better
im not much of a fanboy as my friends but you sound more like a fanboy than me....i dont get pissed at the 6800Us benchmarks..also note that ATI has a team of Microsoft workers helping them with DX9 i read bout it on ATI.com a month ago and still remember it, ever notice why their cards are better with DX9 now you know. and thats also why the Xbox 2 system is using ATI heh

    it is architecture not architexture
as said before, it could be a pile of crap, it could be legit, who cares?
im not believing anything till its properly out

    I hate speculation, but....

If they were to speculate about performance, surely they should base their speculation around the 9600 series which use 0.13 micron? the clocks on a 0.15 micron core are going to have a different affect on performance IMHO...

    9800SE 128-bit mem interface 380/300 performs about the same as a 9600XT at 500/300

they both have 4 pixel pipelines, and both have 128-bit memory interface, and also both have 300Mhz memory clocks. The 9600XT is no more than 5% faster in that instance.

THAT was extremely rude and uncalled for. Ill beleive it when I see it; dont call me a "douche bag" for being doubtful of a shady, unconfirmed source. What I hate is when people automatically assume something is going to be better, and I have full rights to be doubtful of ATI actually having such high performance specs, especially when considering an XT video card probably doesnt even EXIST! So dont you go around insulting people who have valid points to express with vulgar terms and obscenities! :miffed:

also can we quit the name calling, before I start warning people... it's possible to have a discussion without calling other forum members names :grr:

dont wet your pants bout it .jesus some people are soft..
and ATI confirmed the XT for your information and their trying to keep it "confidential" and people get mixed reviews my friends bro works for activision sales marketing and tells me these things hes an Nvidia fan tho....
but hes got pals from both companies... hes the one im gettin doom 3 for free from :D sorry if that was rude, lmao.. cmon this is america gees..everything is rude..
anyway.... the XT is coming out in late May and if its not than my bad
i like Nvidia only if they make their cards consume less power, become smaller like ATIs and maybe more people would buy them...ATIs 9200 and 9600XT dont need molex connector! haha unlike my 5200 :wallbash:

the X800 is going to require 2 molex connectors like the 6800, so therefore their power requirements are MORE THAN likely to be the same.

also, doom 3 for free? is that a legit version or a copy of the version that he is getting? if it's the former, please don't talk about warez...

well this IS only on a forum so i don't know whether to completely believe it or not. but assuming it is all 100% legit ive noticed some things. according to them the x800xt which scored 14240 in 3dmark03 the core is clocked at 600mhz and the memory at 1200mhz. and the 6800u scored 11865 in 3dmark03 and if memory serves the 6800u was a 500mhz core 1000mhz memory card. a little math says 14240/600 = ~23.73 3dmarks per mhz and for the 6800u 11865/500 = 23.73 3dmarks per mhz. and for the ram 14240/1200 = ~11.86 for x800 xt and 11865/1000 = ~11.86 for the 6800u. so yeah i'd say the two are pretty much gunna be neck and neck with a simple clock ajustment by nvidia. a nice even race just as i was hoping for :D

I'm sorry, but how the hell can you make that assumption... the 6800U is made by a completely different company to the X800XT and surprisingly has a completely different marchitecture... :duh:

how can i not make that "assumption"? its simply dividing the 6800u's score up per mhz and simple dividing up the x800 xt's score per mhz

its a very simple way to show the preformance per clock. may not be 100% acurate but im betting the if you increase the clock the 6800u its preformance will go up, and if you decrease the clock on a x800 xt its preformance will go down

clock scaling is hardly linear though
