Sorry to start yet another one of these threads... 1). Ok it has to be quiet... 2). over 400 watts i was thinking thermaltake (480 watt one) but theres so many choices and so many views :S Anyway im interested in people who have bought 400+ watt psus and there opioions Thanks
Antec PSUs = teh win imo. I have one of their TruePower 430 models, and it is the best psu I have ever owned. Very quiet, and I'd reccomend it.
I just got one of those Tagan PSUs - despite it arriving with its warranty sticker fractured, once i powered it up.......*silence*............. Couldnt even tell the bloody thing was there. Second fan doesnt kick in straight away either. Who wants to see my old Q-Tec in a purposeful 'disaster mods' thread in a few days
why not resolder the capactors in the wrong way and stand back for an indoor firework display i did but GWS SAF520 (520W) - cant find it anywhere... ZM400B-APS (400W) - not sure its worth the money due to the fact that i have modded 1 of my £30 psu's (300watt) with bigger heatsinks and a quiet fan... TG480-U01 (480W) - for a minute i nearly bought it but then the whole "its clicking" noise thing started... none of my psu's make an audioable clicking noise and if they did i would rma them, the difference is that the retailer that has them in stock is a pain for rma's... so there you have it. i think reading around its goto be the TT so i will probably order one of those, although when i was reading through there site there was a model with a single 120mm fan in the bottom, seems like an excellant idea to me, but as i cant find it in stock i will probably go for the 480watt model.... Thanks all.
I would say its worth the money. I've had mine a few weeks now and its brilliant. Very stable lines. Completley silent. Extremely high quality. And theres no need to worry about any clicking as theres none of that either.
Yes, the Tagan clicks, but u can only hear it with yr ear up close to the exhaust fan - and thats only cos the fans dont make any noise at all Its quiet, not at all intrusive. Wait till you have one in your hands - a great PSU. Damn, ill even go as far as saying - it reeks of AWESOMENESS!!!!
I have a Levicom 450w dual blue psu, quiet as a mouse & it has loads of molex connectors which is handy for all me fans etc. Plus their very long which is handy for chieftec cases and other big cases alike
You, sir, are now a certifiable genius. Just a tip tho - wait a couple of hours b4 you plonk the beast in yr machine. Bathe in its gloriousness first. Heavy, matt black, no poncy windows........ mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm Got mine from Scan and theyve been nothing but professional - theyre honouring my warranty despite the sticker being torn, and the missing accessories pack has been recovered and is on its way....
