As far as I'm aware from my brief conversation with Antony last night, they are unable to disclose the identity of the new owners at the moment. I'm encouraged by his comments about them having big plans for the forum though! FYI my login is working on Tapatalk but not in a browser.
A front page article would be really good, to explain what's going on and to alleviate people's fears. I don't care who else you keep, but I really want to see Gareth continue with his news articles. They've been one of the few high points on BT in the last 18 months or so.
The CMS is a bit... Non-functioning at the moment. The elves are working on it as we speak, and I'm sure that once it's fixed our new overlords will be publishing something forthwith. Very kind; your cheque's in the post. So far, it's business as usual for me - aside from the CMS being knacked, as above. In fact, I'll be doing three stories a day instead of two, so that's good news, right?
Thanks for the link, that explains most of what's happening, I also couldn't log in last night but today is ok and I turned off Adblocker for the site just to see what it's like now and it's pretty good so far just banner ads which are fine
I really do hope bt will be allowed to keep it's laid back relaxed style that has made bt both a fun and friendly community to be with imho the best tech forum there is As Nexxo said would have been nice to have been informed it was going to happen Certainly feel slower
I thought you already did 3 articles a day for the site? Anyway. Teething issues aside [and not the best choice of date for the changeover], we shall see what the future holds...
No, I used to do two and David Hing did one. Occasionally I'd do a freebie third, if something major broke after I'd already done my two for the day. That got less likely as I got busier, though, and it's been a while since I've done a freebie.
Either way, glad to see you've been kept on... I know most of the running was done by freelancers but hope no-ones been too badly affected by the switchover...
I noticed! Mainly because at a stupid hour of the night (when I should not have woken up) there was only one member logged in
I can finally log in again Pretty exciting developments! Guys you should cut some slack about the over night issues - from my understanding everything has been migrated to a new home and that's no small thing.
I did not I became addicted to this site so much. Was stressing because I couldn't get on. Only achieved that now. Mister tad and Paul hopefully understand why there stuff was not sent today
Agreed. Problems aside, this has the potential to be a huge leap forward for bit-tech. The very fact that bit has been wrested from the grabbing mitts of Dennis Publishing is worth some short term discomfort, at the very least. We know Gareth is still with us (more than before, in fact), how about Rick, Matt, Antony and Ed? I'm sure there are others too, but you get the gist.
