    In case anyone's wondering, there is a video update on my "Ann Summers" chicken, which has been put to good use:

    Going to learn how to repair watches so I bought this movement to break down and rebuild, with any luck it’ll still work and keep time.

    Snap (kinda) I've got some NH35 movements on the way. I don't plan on tinkering with the movement too heavily. more so building confidence In disassembling and reassembling watches more generally.

    I picked up various dials, hands and cases from Aliexpress. Some have already arrived and I'm pleasantly surprised with the quality!

    I have a couple of watches from my late Grandad that I'd like to get repaired, they aren't worth a fortune, but they do have sentimental value, any chance you could shoot a PM me with ya old man's details? TIA

    I could, if you're willing to send them off to Madeira island (Portugal). If you're still interested let me know and I'll PM the details.

    Went surfing for a new spirit level to replace my old one which has pooped the bed, ended up down a rabbit hole and came up after ordering;

    Is it as good quality as the real deal? 'course not. But the real deal is £105, and this was... £10. Delivered.

    Got sick of my 2 android watches needing charged every 2 or 3 days, so sold both and picked up a Xaiomi mi band 8 active, cheap and chearful, 15 day battery life, pretty happy with it and saved a boatload on what i would have spend on a new watch.

    Ha, I've got four pairs on order, a friend showed me them recently (the back door models) and I was very impressed.

    It was this pair on Amazon, but it's gone from £10 to £16 now. Still a lot cheaper than the real deal, mind!

    Most of the other knock-offs on Amazon (which look identical, and they're all probably from Alibaba anyway) are a little under £30, so it's still a decent price.

    Focusrite Vocaster One

    [IMG]

    I absolutely do not need a mixing console with a multi-channel USB interface, but I do still want an audio interface for my mic and to drive my powered monitor speakers. I was going to get a Focusrite Scarlett Solo or 2i2, but I spotted this at £66. Clearly meant for podcasting, but it ticks all my boxes: bus-powered, Type-C, XLR input, 48v phantom power, simple controls, balanced audio outputs. Audio quality seems damn fine so far; got to have the headphone output cranked to drive 250ohm DT770s, but it’s coping. A bit annoying that it’s a software control to enable/disable speaker output, but my speakers do have the ultimate in hardware controls: a power switch on each one!
