ASUS X99-S USB 3 not functioning

    To quote what I said back in June, the fact that the ASMedia USB controller isn't listed in the BIOS makes me think there's a problem with the controller.

    Have you tried the latest BIOS?

    Yep, fully up to date with the BIOS at the moment as of this evening. 4 more USB items show up on the Device Manager list now.

    Still nothing with my X55 though...

    This is the device manager as it stands now:

    No Asmedia Host Controller as you can see, but there is the Microsoft one (that was there earlier too).

    I tried to install the latest driver from Asmedia, but "no host controller found" issue cropped up again and the install failed.

    Since I've not heard diddly-squat from the ASUS rep, should I presume that I'm not going to have much luck with this at all?

    Genuinely frustrating not having the full functionality of the board.

    ave and restart for changes, if any, and reinstall USB 3/Asmedia drivers again in the OS after this

    Fixed that for you, but it still doesn't actually help.

    Have you got a pic of the BIOS when you view single USB port control?
