There's two projects in the pipe line, I've just been so busy over the summer racing. It kinda puts a drain on the funds but now it's winter so the projects should start.

I'm liking the Borg build, and catching up with other project logs, lots has been going on :jawdrop:

    Started on the Tubing work.
The bottom section of the Cosmos II is packed

Every system needs a good drain IMO !

Ok, need a Sanity check here guys.
Created about 1/3rd of the cubes (total over 600) and placed them randomly (well as random as posible) on the foam design.
Everywhere there are 2 or more identical cubes I can place wiring, piping and leds and such. The insid of the foam will also be walled up with the cubes.

The sides will also be "Cubed"

PS: Thnk for the inspiration Bill ! That soundproofing material rally kicked it off !

So after a full week of non-internet connected fun on a snowboard its back to business !!
Yesterday was my birthday also and as usual I always ask new tools for my workshop.

So I got this nice sawtable for my birthday. Actually its called a tile cutter and you would use it for cutting up bathroom and kitchen tiles. But because its a full flat blade instead of a tooth blade its extremely suitable for cutting up pvc and plastics as its doesnt bite into the material. Also a small watertray underneath the blade reduces the dust and cools the blade so the plastics wont melt. I have about 600 more cubes to make for the BORG so I am very happy with it !

Its always a good sign once you get to the painting part of the build. This is a quick shot after an afternoon of sanding, sprayputty and spraycans

Got a couple of days of holiday left so hope to make some real progress!

Ok here is the first update of the small mod marathon !

I wanted to have several levels in the BORG cube fangrill panel so I cut out the right depth with a dremel
    [IMG]

After glueing all the mesh down I started with the ever so important first row.

Wood glue is always the best when working with different types of plastic as it wont melt your work. I am glueing PVC with aluminum mesh with Polystyrene.

Then cleaning its up with a cotton tip. Its gonna be airbrushed but the wood glue dries transparantly also.

Laying out the design before I commit to it. This makes sure the design flows right.

Damn, I need to make more cubes ...

It's a great idea to play with those little blocks to shape the exterior, but I think I would've taken balsa or foamy stuff instead to reduce the overall weight.

    Yeah, its not light stuff.
I have learned from the eurisko that foam or depron is not the best stuff if you want to preserve the build. The slightest bump or fingernail leaves a mark that you remain forever.
Taking it to a lan party is very difficult then.

    Taking a large 40kg case to a LAN-party is difficult aswell :p
