    Marketing :p

They seem to be better for the pro SC2 players but most gamers aren't good enough to hit the keys rapidly enough to notice any difference in performance.

That's because I was playing on a 3 year old 15" Dell laptop with a BT Openzone wireless hotspot connection..

I was lucky when getting mine. CCL's demo area that shows off some games machines etc. is normally stocked with mechanical boards. I'd originally gone to get a new cyborg v5 (my old one the ASD keys had worn and the backlighting just looked like blobs - nice keyboard other than that though), and tried some mechanicals. Ended up getting a CMStorm Quickfire. Lovely to type on and it really does feel like a solid, quality piece of kit.

Definitely a "try before you buy" purchase. Can't see the attraction of different key caps etc., but it'd be really boring if everybody liked the same things.

As others have said, you really just need to try one.
Not everyone will like them, but for me I hate having to type on a rubber dome keyboard now, and am slowly changing the minds of most of my friends.

Keycaps are purely an aesthetic thing, like people spending money on nice looking cases etc
You don't have to spend THAT much really, you can easily spend as much on a rubber dome keyboard :)

Yeah and funnily enough most pro SC2 players use that random $2 Korean rubber dome board anyways. All about familiarity.

Traitor how could you say that ! /joking

Just use what you like. ITs a lot like cars some people love FIAT Punto others love Audi A8.
It really is the same idea.

Feeling is believing. I suggest to get something from used market like a 30EUR Cherry G80 if you're curious and spend at least a week with it solid before making a decision. No need to break the bank.

Sounds good, so what's the cheapest Blue Backlit Mech Keyboard with Cherry Red's? Gotta be inkeeping with the rest of the case etc :p

Backlight add a lot to the cost, and if you tell me it can't be ANSI, you just killed it.

New and available in the UK?

    http://www.kustompcs.co.uk/acatalog/info_30100.html

Add £44 if you want the full size version of the Shine 2 or £10 if you can find an original Shine in that configuration.

Have you used one? I have one and I'm really pleased with it. There are plenty of good reviews too.

Whoops no I had a K60, the K90 has lots of problems and failures and it is still a mixed switch board.
