New BF3 server - community funded.

We need about 150 by the 20th, really. Then we can have it for 3 months before donations come around again. I can't see us hitting 6 months on this drive. Maybe the next one when people have had a chance to think about it.

Sent a little bit more as I had some extra this month, on behalf of the regs who can't donate at the moment due to personal reasons. Hopefully that should push us to a 3 month contract .

 

Hi Guy's after talks with Rogan I understand we don't get a large voice coms server with the new BF3 Server.

I have set us up a mumble which you can find the server at:

IP: 178.32.51.40

(The port is the standard mumble port so no need to change it)

It's 500 slots so will fit everyone in and possibly we could use this for other games such as the CSS etc.

If mumble admins of the current server would like to hop on and register I can put you guys in the admin group.

just registered on 500 slot mumble, may i ask who is the host and whether we need to help with bandwidth?

i can help out on configuring murmur.ini to make it similar to current BF3 server configuration.

 

Definitely go for the full 64-man server on a 3-month contract.

I'm host, yeah if you want to send over an .ini file I'll swap it over, same with this teamsync if you guys want it set up I can stick that on a box too if someone configures it with the bf3 server.

 

well, i just added a few lines to make sure people get a message when they join the game channel:

with a new server, create first channel to be "Just Joined" (or similar meaning). i don't know how to get channel ID, so this is important.

then add the following to murmur.ini.

defaultchannel=1
rememberchannel=false
suggestPushToTalk=true

people will always join into the first channel ID 1 (which is the first one you created), if they don't have P2T enabled, they'll get a message on mumble.

 

Branded or unbranded? It's £2.50 or something.

After further discount we're close to 6 months, if we want 6 months upfront. Maybe I can wangle it with what we have.

I'm asking nicely for a 15% discount instead of a 10% discount. lol. We're only £10 off 6 months.

 

i personally don't see the point of unbranded...... it's just a server.

6 months looks like an excellent deal, just need 2 more people to donate.....

 

I'd also leave it branded.

How much do we need for 6 months? I don't have a great source of money being still at college but I'd probably be willing to put in £5-10.
