Perhaps a message could pop up in the chat box to explain it or maybe put in the server description. Could it all so be possible for paying members to get reserved spots on the server?
^ I guess we need to vote on that. Is there a groups gizmo on bit tech we could use? What keywords? I search for 'fast' to find quick vehicle servers. 'Tickets' might be another. All sorted then.
Could we vote for: paying members get a reserved spot on the server increasing the ticket count (we need to decide on how many tickets) Maybe have the ticket count listed as well.
Everyone's been invited to the group for that purpose. http://forums.bit-tech.net/group.php?groupid=93
I will change the name and sort the tickets out today and sort the map list out. I like the idea of reserved slots but if 10 of us donated that's 10 slots gone. Maybe if we can do if you donated it kicks the last joiner to make room for the donator? A bit like what you can do with sourcemod.
Yeah that's what I was thinking was meant by reserved slots; if the server is full and a paying member wants access the last joiner is kicked to make room. Having 10 empty slots at all times wouldn't be ideal hehe!
Just been going through procon forums and apparently the reserved slot feature DICE turned off :/ But I will look further into it. Tickets.. I have dropped in a plugin that will change the ticket percentage depending how many players on. So if 64 players are on it will double the default ticket size. And if 5 people are on it will be the norm. I have also put up a BF3 IRC bot as most the time when I'm not in game I'm on IRC so can see what's going on. In theory if you say my name in chat my IRC will flash me
Especially with a near perma' empty slot. Is that hyper-v connected on tier 1? Upload bandwidth for Murmur can be high (speaker bit rate * all listeners), but I'm certain you know what you're doing from your sig. Whats the score with TeamSync and a team balancer? I've worked out how to identify Channel ID's, and am willing to help in whatever fashion.
The server Mumble and Procon is on is on a VM under Hyper-V networking between the VM and the Host is 10GBPS, and the host has a 1GBPS So plenty of bandwidth. As for teamsyn we can get this set up tonight and you can help out if you can get the channel id's
That might be enough. ; voip parent channel ID for this server voipchannel=4 ; voip lobby channel, users are moved here when not playing, defaults to voipchannel voiplobby=2 ; voip pickup channel ID, not required, the default channel is useful voippickup=1 breakpoint: Mumble src -> ClientUser.cpp -> 259 "Channel::addClientUser" They could have been guessed . Not sure on if parent and lobby are the right way around.
it's the one called "Ultimate Map Manager". it's donation only, i've donated to get the plugin. best if we don't do game mode change, since i think that's what making people leave after changing playlist. only change map lists and ticket count (i believe the last time i read their forum a while ago, play list configuration was on their to-do list. so infantry only small maps to start, medium sized maps with normal vehicle spawn at around 32 players, fast vehicle, loads of tickets for full server) the map manager can also change server name, making it change the keywords on server name should help getting randomers in. hope you get TeamSync working. really looking forward to using it. also, i will stop advertising the MPUK server and someone start a server thread (or in this thread OP, Rogan ) for mumble, game server and their configurations.
The channel is like this: battlefield 3 - > General - > team A - > team b I want players to st in general and be moved into the correct teams etc. So it picks and throws them out of general into the right channels. Or do I need to just set it to the battle field 3 channel and it auto create the channel for teamsync?
In regards teams you mean splitting us up so we arent talking whilst on apposing teams? This is ok by me, but I know that we do enjoy talking whilst we shoot at each other xD
This would be a good idea; perhaps we could sticky this thread and add server IP + Mumble details to it?
Ah yeah I see what you mean, it might be better to: BF3 (this can work as Gen) ("voippickup"?) > Community Server ("voiplobby") > Sync ("voipchannel") >> Team >>> Squads (...) (that's right TS won't just team us, but can squad as well) >> Team >>> Squads (...) > Other >> Co-Op >> (...) the sync channel would be entirely managed by "voipcreate=yes". Whisper/Shout , and the thing can switch itself off if there are <= (default 8) nr of players. There is also something about Squad Leaders being able to talk to each other
