I have decided to return mine under DSR. Regretted the impulse purchase as soon as non ref card news appeared. All the none ref EVGA range have 8+6 power connections (SC-5 phase PWM and F TW-8 Phase PWM) as an indicator of whats around the corner. These are going to be monster cards with significant extra power to juice up the OC's. Seems to me the reference 680's are being limited by power and not really warranting being put under water - it isnt temps holding them back. Card clocks back at 70 degrees and a 60% fan speed can regulate that. I'm holding out for a 4GB F TW/SC or whatever justifies another £80 on a waterblock Will be interesting to see where the pricing comes in at as the market settles a bit.
170 mhz on the clock is still basically 1200 core on air 1000 core on 580s required water to even get close
Yes, 170mhz on air is very good! I have 880mhz 560ti's and best I can get is 1ghz on one and 960 on the other. Mine are liquid cooled.
Just benched my GTX 680 And here you go Only have 3dmark 11, Vantage and 06, and Heaven at the moment. Have been hitting around 65fps to 70fps in BF3 at 1920x1080 Ultra all AA etc maxed at stock speed's overclocked between 85fps to 100fps dependant on the map. But result's time. It's depressing isn't it? They even obliterate my 580's running at 1.075Ghz on heaven deadbeat was running 8X AA I was running 4X AA and the 680's where still 100 points ahead
This makes me want one. It will obliterate my 2 x 1gb 560Ti's then. Also u have to consider that my power consumption will drop by using just 1 x 680. Until of course I buy a second one.
Looking forward to joining you lads in the club Product Quantity Price ---------------------------------------------------------- 2GB MSI GTX 680, 28nm, PCI-E 3.0, 6 1 £354.68 ---------------------------------------------------------- Net Total £354.68 Carriage £0.00 Scansure £12.77 Total £438.39 Just been paid and it's nearly all gone
I know that feeling got £1100 out of my wages this month that I could spend on myself and it went all in one go on new bit's for mine.
am i the only one who was expecting it to be more than that? maybe i have just been brainwashed. i mean, i just bought a £180 psu, its only a bit more of one of those again :s that being said.. it was an expensive psu
Urm. He's using v3.0 and you are using v2.5. Do another rerun, and the score will be closer than you think.
You paid for Scansure? How bad do you have to be to screw up installing a graphics card? I got mine from Dabs for £385 (an EVGA one, although they have now put the price up a tenner), not bad for a newly released flagship card TBH, especially considering the price of the 7970s. I've never spent more than £160 on a new GPU before though....
I had un-ticked scan sure and when to change my delivery address when I got sent back to the checkout it must have re-enabled. Scan have re-funded me the money
I hope so My aim is to be able to go from 1920x1080 at medium settings to 2560x1440 at high settings in BF3 (I don't think it will quite be able to handle ultra settings at that res and still maintain a constant 60fps), so it will be quite a big jump and may take me a while to get used to it. At least now I will be able to enjoy the game in all its glory though
