theyre very run of the mill but theyre great little fish. direct fed my shrimp with a pipette which brought them out
I've got myself a nice Gold Ram, currently, just a Male, but i hope to soon get a Female, What i do find amusing though is how he keeps following my Clown Loach all over the place. Discus are still the ultimate goal though, but i needs more monies. Sam
Due to financial issues, my smaller Rio 240 has been shut down, and all fish moved into the Trigon 350, been amusing with the Ram chasing the Platys, I'm hoping things will settle down during the day, else it's catching 13 Platys and finding a new home for them. Sam
Booooo, Discovered yesterday two of my Clown Loach have White Spot. Hopefully, luck is on my side, as my water temps are so high (30c) it should kill off any bacteria in the water, and secondly, i've just popped upto Maidenhead and bought some White Spot treatment, so hopefully i've spotted it in time. Sam
thats a pain, yeh some fish i had got it and i turned the temp upto 28 untill i got a treatment for it. atleast its easily treatable and they should be okay afterwards
Clown loach are very susceptible to white spot due to having no scale layer. Sure I read somewhere that they react very well to the treatments though.
I must say, now that my Rio is once again empty, i am tempted to turn it into a Marine Setup, i would need to do some work to it all however, and it would be sumpless, but it is possible. Big canister filter, plus skimmer, and it should be ok, me thinks. Now to convince mother.... Sam Edit, @Cerberus, i must admit i'm not overly fussed with my Clown Loach currently, as they have started digging up and up rooting my plants. My Gold Ram is what concerns me most, he's the most expensive fish in the tank, and stock is only going to cost more, but fingers crossed all will be well in a few days, and maybe i can remove the loach, and platties, and introduce a new selection of fish just after my bday
Just remember to use half dose where scale-less fish are concerned if you're using a copper based white spot treatment. My granddad used to keep a 2p coin in the back of his fish tank, released trace amount of copper over time which kept the snails to a minimum and I don't ever remember the fish getting whitespot.
W00t, been very lucky, No fish have died with my White Spot outbreak, thus, i have been happy enough to introduce some new fish. My Male Gold Ram has been given a new friend, so a Female Gold Ram has been introduced. I have also bought some Glass Catfish, want moar though. Sam

I just have a 10 gallon tank with two oranda goldfish, but the layout is incredibly boring and diatoms are taking over.. I'll take pictures once it's clean. I hate that my tank is crowded, once I move over the summer I'll probably spring for a ~50-75gal tank. Goldfish Cheesecake. I'm really jealous of anyone who keeps live rock, it always looks so good..
We have a nice marine aquarium, but unfortunately there's a chemical imbalance in it and a lot of the stuff that was in there died and we don't have the money to re-stock it. Had a lion fish (fortunately never been stung by it...heard it's like someone repeatedly hitting your arm with a hammer for a few hours) a shrimp, a small lobster, a couple of clown-fish, a yellow tang and a large marine snail type thing? (the large snail like things with the really pretty shells) Hoping to get it re-stocked over the summer
one of my clowns has turned a very bright orange took the trip to the fish shop yesterday I swear I did not think it would be so many bags lol my plan was get either two banagii cardinals if there was nothing i liked. but they had a nice royal gramma and a yellow goby that really took my eye. the gramma settled in a hole in the LR and just peeks his head out to see whats going on my clowns took an instant liking to the yellow goby picked up a green xenia and a feather duster. the xenia came out from sulking after 20/30 mins of the lights going on which im taking as a good sign the xenia is alot brighter than in the pic. the xenia had a few brittle star hitch hickers, little white ones that I let into the tank picked up three red legged hermits and five turbo snails my hair algea is disappearing quicker than it came and i think i have alot of copepods on my LR my next plan is a few more corals and two bangaii cardinals maybe and a jawfish and maybe one more biggish fish
Very nice shigllgetcha, looks to be coming on very well. I myself went and did it, i bought 2 Discus, only 2 for now, but at £30 per fish, these are the most expensive fish so far. Pics to come in the next few days. Sam
Yes, they sure are, my next two will be a breeding pair, but it's a fair amount of saving, £100/£120 for a pair, i may get 1 more Blue, as i've been told to keep them in odd numbers, so thinking of 5 in total. Sam
Bought myself 1 more Discus today, only just introduced him/her into the tank 20 mins or so ago, so will post pics tomorrow. But it's a Solid Blue Discus, and looks somewhat awesome. Sam
After a series of issues with my Gold Rams, i.e, Dying for no apparent reason with next to perfect water conditions, the remaining Gold has been returned to Maidenhead, and a Breeding Pair of Electric Blue Rams have taken the Golds place. Now it seems my tank has a 'Blue' Theme with the Discus mainly being blue, the Rams are now Blue, the vast collection of Neon Tetras are Blue. Only now i'm tempted to get a larger tank, and sell the Trigon... Bad thoughts.. Sam
